What should we do about our house alarm?
If you have an alarm, please contact your alarm company and tell them you have hired Concierge Pet Care. Please provide the code to deactivate and activate the system and password in case of accidentally setting off the alarm. If you are uncomfortable giving Concierge Pet Care this information, please set up a temporary code and password for our purposes.
Do you offer referral rewards?
Yes! A lot of our business comes from referrals and we show our appreciation with whatever makes the most sense for the referrer’s animals. This may be toys, a new harness, treats, excursions, and accumulated nights for in-home care.
Will you clean up pet accidents?
In-home care
We are happy to dispose of pet waste and will do our best to clean up any accidents your pet may have. We strive to leave your home in a better condition than when you left.

Excursions
We will clean up any messes that we see during pick up if we have received instructions.

We do request you provide plastic bags, cleaning products, paper towels, and indicate where you would like the waste to be deposited.
Will you work with a pet with a history of aggression?
No, we ask in your profile if your pet has a history of aggression and it’s very important you are honest with us. Although we are experienced in pet care, we are not trainers or behaviorists. If your pet(s) will not let us into your home or prevent us from providing routine duties, we will contact you for alternative arrangements.

How are pet caretakers vetted?
We start by searching for talent from within the pet care industry. This generally includes pet sitters already in operation, employees of veterinary facilities and emergency veterinary hospitals. From here we complete a background check then an interview process to determine IF they align with the qualities that our clients expect. From here we create a personality & compatibility profile to better identify matches. We cover the expenses for training if the caretaker is not already pet CPR certified and first aid trained. Caretakers may carry existing insurance. They also fall under the umbrella of coverage for any Concierge Pet Care sit or excursion.
Why is there a pet evaluation process?
Once a parent fills out the paperwork and submits vaccination records, Concierge Pet Care comes to your home for a meet & greet. We want to meet everyone, assess the temperament of your pets and learn as much as we can about their personality and preferences. We also need to understand the “house rules” to provide continuity of household activity and answer any further questions or concerns parents may have.
What does the care team do?
The pet care team is there to help coordinate every step in the in-home care and excursion experiences. The team adds a layer of support for caretakers to ensure a seamless experience for both you and your pets.
What kind of insurance do you carry?
[to be filled once insurance kicks in]
Why do you require all pets to be up to date with vaccinations?
We require all dogs to be vaccinated for Bordatella (Kennel Cough), Leptospirosis and CIV (Flu) in addition to the required vaccinations. We want to keep all the dogs running full steam ahead! By requiring these additional vaccinations we reduce the chance of spreading viruses.
In-home care questions
What if the caretaker cancels?
We have an extensive network of pet care takers to take over care should the original person need to cancel. If the sit has been agreed and we have completely exhausted our network, we will cover the cost of a kennel/boarding and provide a credit for future services on any nights that we are unable to coordinate care.
How can I best prepare my home and pets for when I leave?
We have put together a comprehensive guide for preparing your home and pets for when you leave, which you can download here.
Will my pets be left alone?
If a sitter steps out for a period longer than the lesser of an agreed upon amount of time or 4 hours, we handle backup care by another caretaker. You will be provided with a bio of anyone within our service that will be taking care of your fur babies.
What if the weather is poor?
We operate in most weather. If inclement weather could jeopardize the health and safety of the dogs and caretakers a credit will be provided for future services and accommodations will be made.
Excursion questions
Can my dog do a single excursion?
No. Our excursion service is a weekly plan. Enrolled dogs are required to have at least one excursion a week. This is done to create consistency within the program and help foster relationships between the pups.
Do the dogs get in fights?
For the most part the dogs do get along, but even the best of friends can get on one another’s nerves or have a bad day. If we notice at pickup that your pup is acting aggressive, we will notify you and coordinate for another day. We are trained to spot any change in play that could result in aggression and will separate as needed. We do not allow any dogs with aggressive tendencies. The dogs have to be able to travel together in our taxis and enjoy each other’s company. If we do experience aggressive behavior with a particular dog, they will not be able to continue with us.
What if the weather is poor?
We operate in most weather. If inclement weather could jeopardize the health and safety of the dogs and caretakers a credit will be provided for future services and accommodations will be made.
Will my pet(s) be off leash?
Dogs will be allowed off leash if the pack is in an enclosed space that can be controlled and monitored by the caretakers or if we have determined during the meet and greet that your pet(s) can be trusted off leash during appropriate times.
